King Kendrick grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, cutting his teeth at Caldwell Academy before making the jump to Combine Academy, one of the more competitive prep programs in the state. That move wasn't small — Combine Academy plays a national schedule and forces young guards to grow up fast against older, more physical competition. He's sharing a backcourt with Jaylen Cross, a 2025 shooting guard ranked #208 nationally who's already locked in his commitment to Wake Forest, which has given Kendrick reps next to a proven scorer who knows how to play off the ball.
