Jackson was a bit further along athletically at the same stage, but Sam possesses that same raw physical upside and defensive impact that made Jackson such an intriguing prospect for Kentucky.
Recruitment
Missouri has extended an offer, and that's a good initial indicator for a player ranked #206 nationally in the 2027 class. As his game develops, especially with the high-level competition at Southeastern Prep, more programs will certainly get involved. He's still very early in his recruitment, being a 2027, so there's no rush to commit. I anticipate low-major and mid-major programs will continue to scout him heavily, with high-major interest building as he refines his offensive skill set. He's likely a spring 2026 or fall 2026 commitment, giving himself plenty of time.
Projection
Precious projects as a high-major defensive anchor and rebounder at the college level. He can immediately come in and protect the rim and secure boards for a program. His offensive game is still catching up, but if he adds strength and develops a reliable post move or short-range jumper, he has the potential to be a significant two-way contributor. His pro trajectory is a longer shot, likely as a G-League candidate or international player, unless his offensive game makes substantial strides.
