Scout Report
A 6-1 guard who can fill up the stat sheet while wreaking havoc on defense, this Virginia prospect is quickly making a name for himself on the circuit.
Background
Hailing from Manassas, Virginia, Kye Gray suits up for Bethel Academy as a member of the 2027 class. The junior guard has been making waves on the AAU circuit and high school level, showcasing his versatility and impact on both ends of the floor. Gray has been a key contributor for his squad during tournament play and weekend showcases.
Playing Style
Gray possesses an impressive combination of scoring ability and defensive instincts that makes him a two-way threat. His court vision and rebounding from the guard position demonstrate his basketball IQ and hustle mentality. What separates Gray from other guards is his ability to create turnovers at an elite level, using active hands and anticipation to disrupt opposing offenses. At 6-1 with good length, he has the physical tools to guard multiple positions while contributing across all statistical categories.
Recruitment
As a 2027 prospect, Gray is still early in his recruitment process with no reported offers at this time. However, his recent performances suggest that college coaches should take notice sooner rather than later. With continued development and strong showings on the circuit, Gray projects as a player who could attract significant attention from mid-major and potentially high-major programs.
Stat Highlight
In a recent showcase performance, Gray posted an eye-popping line of 16 points and 9 steals, while also recording a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds in another outing.
