Rocco Loomis
Uncommitted"Rutgers Prep NJ Panthers"
Scout Report
The 2027 point guard class is still taking shape, but one name to keep on your radar is making waves at the prep level.
Background
Rocco Loomis is developing his craft at Rutgers Preparatory School, where he's honing the skills that could make him a coveted recruit in the coming years. As a member of the 2027 class, he has plenty of time to develop and showcase his abilities on the prep circuit. The young point guard is working within a competitive prep environment that has produced college-level talent in recent years.
Playing Style
Loomis brings the natural instincts you want to see from a young floor general, showing early signs of court vision and basketball IQ that suggest significant upside. His ability to run an offense and make decisions with the ball in his hands appears to be a foundational strength of his game. As with most 2027 prospects, there's considerable room for physical and skill development, but the early indicators point to someone who understands the nuances of the point guard position. His development over the next few seasons will be crucial in determining whether he can translate his prep school success to the next level.
Recruitment
With no reported offers yet, Loomis is still in the early stages of his recruitment journey, which is typical for 2027 prospects. The next two years will be critical for his development and exposure on the AAU circuit and prep level. If he continues to progress at the point guard position, college programs could begin to take notice as he enters his junior season.

2027 Rocco Loomis (@rpshoops) was spectacular @ our college showcase. All night, Roc displayed his ability to score in a variety of ways AND at all 3 levels —as well as his ability to operate ball screens & make plays for his teammates. The RPS guard has narrowed down to about a handful of schools, whichever program lands him will be very very lucky. Rocco is an absolute warrior & a difference-maker.
