Scout Report
When your father is a former NFL Super Bowl champion, the athletic genes and competitive drive tend to run in the family.
Background
Jaylen Addai, son of former Indianapolis Colts running back Joseph Addai, is making his own mark on the hardwood at Shadow Creek High School in Texas. The sophomore guard has grown up around elite athletics and championship-level competition, giving him a unique perspective on what it takes to succeed at the highest levels. Shadow Creek has provided him with a strong program to develop his skills against quality competition in the loaded Texas high school basketball landscape.
Playing Style
Addai shows the composure and basketball IQ of a player beyond his years, consistently contributing in multiple facets of the game. His ability to score in double figures against quality competition demonstrates his offensive versatility and clutch gene. The sophomore guard displays solid court vision and decision-making, rarely forcing bad shots or making critical turnovers. While still developing physically, his understanding of spacing and timing suggests he has the potential to become a complete two-way player as he continues to mature.
Recruitment
As a 2026 prospect, Addai is still early in his recruitment process with no reported offers yet, which is typical for a sophomore. His strong bloodlines, developing skill set, and production at Shadow Creek should attract attention from college programs as he continues to grow. With two more years of high school basketball ahead of him, his recruitment ceiling will largely depend on his physical development and continued improvement on both ends of the floor.
Stat Highlight
Addai has shown his scoring ability with double-digit performances, including a solid 10-point outing in a competitive matchup that helped showcase his reliability as a contributor.
