Scout Report
Speed kills in basketball, and few guards in the 2026 class possess the combination of pace and scoring instinct that makes defenders constantly look over their shoulder.
Background
Betz suits up for The St. James in Virginia, where he's developing his craft as a dual-threat guard in the competitive prep landscape. As a 2026 prospect, he's still relatively early in the recruitment process but has already caught the attention of scouts with his dynamic offensive skill set. His journey through Virginia's basketball circuit has provided him with quality competition to hone his abilities.
Playing Style
Betz brings an explosive offensive package built around his exceptional speed and natural scoring ability. His quickness allows him to attack defenses in multiple ways, whether pushing the pace in transition or creating separation in half-court sets. The guard's scoring instincts shine through his ability to find and exploit openings in opposing defenses. While his speed is clearly his calling card, continued development of his playmaking vision and defensive consistency will determine his ceiling at the next level.
Recruitment
Currently without reported scholarship offers, Betz represents an intriguing prospect for college programs looking for a dynamic guard who can inject pace and scoring punch into their system. His early development suggests significant upside as he continues to mature physically and refine his court awareness. Programs that value speed and offensive creativity should keep close tabs on his progression through the 2026 recruiting cycle.
