Craig Carter brings over 24 years of coaching experience to South Kent School, including 15 years at the NCAA Division I level. He began his collegiate coaching career in 2001 at Elizabeth City State, which led to positions at the University of North Carolina Greensboro and UMass Amherst as Director. During his tenure in college basketball, Carter assisted in developing notable players like Siena alum Kenny Hasbrouck, who became one of the program's all-time greats with 1,917 career points and 248 steals. Since joining South Kent in 2023, Carter has quickly established himself as an exceptional school leader and student advocate. His unwavering commitment to the school's mission and values, combined with his enthusiasm for developing student-athletes both on and off the court, earned him a promotion to Dean of Students. Carter takes over the premier basketball program from esteemed former coach Raphael Chillious, who personally recommended him for the position, bringing his diverse and seasoned perspective to continue South Kent's basketball legacy.
