Alex Popp brings a championship pedigree and extensive coaching background to The Winchendon School as its new Director of Basketball. Prior to Winchendon, Coach Popp spent five seasons as the Head Coach of the Academic Post-Graduate team at IMG Academy. His collegiate coaching experience includes roles at Holy Cross as Director of Basketball Operations, Middlebury College, and Springfield College. From 2014-2020, Popp led Vermont Academy, where he guided the Wildcats to their first and only NEPSAC AA Championship in 2016, defeating Cushing Academy. He has a remarkable record of developing talent, having coached three NBA Champions: Malcolm Miller, Jordan Nwora, and Bruce Brown. Coach Popp’s proven ability to cultivate elite athletes and build successful programs underscores his commitment to player development and competitive excellence.
