During his tenure at Vermont Academy, he guided the Wildcats to their first and only NEPSAC AA Championship in 2016, defeating Cushing Academy. His extensive collegiate experience includes roles at Holy Cross, Middlebury College, and Springfield College. Popp's talent development is evident in the three NBA Champions he has coached: Malcolm Miller, Jordan Nwora, and Bruce Brown.
