Head Coach
Pete Kaffey brings over 20 years of grassroots basketball experience to his role as head coach at AZ Compass Prep, where he has established the program as a national high school powerhouse. Throughout his distinguished career spanning the basketball circuit, Findlay Prep, and now AZ Compass, Kaffey has been instrumental in developing over 15 NBA athletes, demonstrating his exceptional ability to nurture talent at the highest level. Before joining AZ Compass, Kaffey played a key role in attracting top national talent to Findlay Prep in the Las Vegas area. His extensive connections within the grassroots basketball community and proven networking abilities led him to Arizona through a relationship with AAU pioneer Anthony Ray. In his first year leading the Dragons, Kaffey guided the team to the prestigious Chipotle Nationals, an elite eight-team tournament showcasing the country's best high school basketball programs. His comprehensive understanding of developing players both on and off the court continues to attract elite prospects to the program.
