Michael Shelton
Head Coach
Michael Shelton serves as the head boys basketball coach at Northfield Mount Hermon School, where he has been building the program since his hiring in May 2022. Prior to joining NMH, Shelton spent three years as the head boys basketball coach at Governor's Academy in Newbury, developing his coaching philosophy and leadership skills. Taking over from legendary coach John Carroll, who led the program to national prominence over more than two decades, Shelton embraced the high expectations while understanding the rebuilding process ahead. After spending his first season competing in NEPSAC Class AAA, Shelton strategically moved the Hoggers to Class AA to better position the program for success. Despite facing significant injuries during his second season, he guided the team to 15 wins and an impressive run to the Class AA semifinals. Now in his third year, Shelton has established a clear vision for the program's future.
