Head Coach
Eric Singletary serves as head basketball coach at Sidwell Friends School, where he has transformed his alma mater into a Washington, DC basketball powerhouse. A 1993 graduate of Sidwell Friends who played basketball at the prestigious prep school in the late 80s and early 90s, Singletary brings a deep understanding of the institution's culture and values to his coaching role. He attended Rice University before returning to lead the Quakers program. Under Singletary's leadership, the boys' basketball team has captured five Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference championships and earned state championship honors. His program has become a direct pipeline to elite college basketball, most notably Villanova University, developing NBA-caliber talent including Josh Hart, Saddiq Bey, and current standout Acaden Lewis. Singletary has been recognized as Coach of the Year for his exceptional work in the highly competitive DMV high school basketball scene. Though he once aspired to become an attorney, his passion for basketball ultimately led him to this role he considers more than just work.
