John Herndon, known to many as "CH," brings 37 years of basketball coaching experience to his role as head coach at Second Baptist School, where he has served since 2018. His extensive background includes collegiate coaching stops at Rice, North Dakota State, and Washington & Lee, as well as successful high school programs at Christ School in Asheville, North Carolina, and Episcopal High School. Under Herndon's leadership, the Eagles have emerged as consistent contenders for the TAPPS State Title, reaching the TAPPS 5A State Finals in 2019 and remaining competitive at the highest levels in recent seasons. His coaching philosophy centers on building relationships while teaching fundamental basketball skills.
