Jeff Weiss, a lifelong Five Towns resident and Lawrence Woodmere Academy's head basketball coach since 1988, has established himself as one of New York's most successful prep basketball coaches. The 60-year-old Hewlett High School graduate began his coaching career at his alma mater, where he guided the 1988 boys' soccer team to a state title and coached junior varsity basketball before transitioning to LWA. In his tenure at Lawrence Woodmere Academy, Weiss has amassed over 400 victories, 14 league championships, and 5 New York State Association of Independent School titles. His teams captured Federation Championships in 1999 and 2002, showcasing their ability to compete at the highest level. Weiss has earned league Coach of the Year honors 12 times, reflecting his consistent excellence and leadership. Currently serving as both head basketball coach and Director of Athletics, Weiss continues to build LWA's championship tradition while developing student-athletes both on and off the court.
