Program Scout Report

Overview

Alexander has carved out a presence on the Georgia prep basketball landscape as an independent program, competing outside traditional conference structures to build its own schedule and identity. The program's status as a developing name in the space reflects a broader trend of smaller prep schools using flexibility to attract talent and create opportunities for exposure.

Coaching Staff

Dallas Smith leads the program as head coach, overseeing day-to-day development and the overall direction of the roster. As with many independent-program leaders, Smith's role extends beyond coaching to shaping the culture and competitive identity of a program still establishing its footprint.

Player Development

The program currently tracks 14 players on its roster, representing a developmental pipeline still in its early stages of producing recognized recruits. Pops Dunson, a 2026 prospect ranked #198 nationally, stands as the program's top-rated talent and a key indicator of the trajectory Alexander is building toward.

Culture & Academics

Based in Georgia, Alexander operates with the flexibility of independent status, allowing the program to shape its own competitive calendar and environment outside conventional conference play.

Recruiting Outlook

With Pops Dunson leading a 14-player roster, Alexander's recruiting profile is still in a formative phase, built around a single nationally ranked prospect rather than a deep, established pipeline. The program's independent status offers flexibility to pursue talent and scheduling opportunities that could support growth in future recruiting cycles, though its trajectory remains tied closely to the continued development of its top-tier recruits.
