Ruston
Program Scout Report
Overview
Ruston operates as an independent program in Louisiana, building its identity outside the structure of conference play. With a lean roster of tracked talent, the program is positioning itself as a developmental destination within the state's prep basketball landscape.
Coaching Staff
Head coach Marcus Jackson leads the program's basketball operations and day-to-day development of the roster. His approach centers on cultivating individual player growth within an independent schedule that allows for flexible competition and exposure opportunities.
Player Development
The program's current development pipeline is anchored by a compact 11-man roster, with emphasis placed on individualized attention given the smaller group size. This structure allows coaching staff to focus resources on the growth of standout talents moving through the system.
Culture & Academics
Based in Louisiana, Ruston provides a close-knit environment where a smaller roster fosters tighter team chemistry and more direct access to coaching staff.
Recruiting Outlook
Ruston's recruiting trajectory is highlighted by two notable underclassmen: Ahmad Hudson, a 2027 prospect wearing #17, and Darren Ford, a 2028 prospect wearing #40. With both players still early in their high school careers, the program's long-term outlook hinges on their continued development and the attention they draw to the independent program over the next several seasons.
