Program Scout Report

Overview

Archbishop Stepinac has carved out a reputation as a formidable independent program in New York prep basketball, competing outside conference affiliation while still attracting notable talent. The program's independent status allows for a flexible, competitive schedule that tests its roster against a wide range of opponents.

Coaching Staff

Head coach Patrick Massaroni leads the Stepinac program, overseeing both on-court strategy and the development of a roster stacked with underclassmen talent. His leadership has helped position the program as one to watch heading into the 2026 and 2027 recruiting cycles.

Player Development

The current roster reflects a strong developmental pipeline, highlighted by five tracked prospects including multiple 2026 targets in Adonis Ratliff, Darius Ratliff, and Jasiah Jervis. The presence of both a 2026-heavy core and a 2027 prospect in Joshua Rivera suggests a program building sustained depth across classes.

Culture & Academics

Archbishop Stepinac offers a structured academic environment paired with competitive athletics, giving student-athletes a platform to develop both in the classroom and on the court.

Recruiting Outlook

With five tracked prospects led by the Ratliff duo, Jervis, Rivera, and Koureissi, Stepinac's recruiting pipeline is concentrated heavily in the 2026 class, positioning the program for a pivotal evaluation period over the next two seasons. The program's trajectory will hinge on how this talented 2026 core translates its potential into collegiate-level recruiting attention, while Rivera's 2027 presence signals continued pipeline development beyond the current cycle.
