A former Division I standout guard at Lafayette College and the University of New Hampshire, Dawson was instrumental in Lafayette's 1999 Patriot League Championship and 2000 NCAA Tournament appearance, earning his induction into the Lafayette Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018. Prior to arriving at Choate in 2014, he spent nearly a decade coaching at the NCAA Division I level with Hartford and Lafayette, and in Europe.
