Scout Report
A 6-7 wing who made the jump from top-20 national recruit to college contributor, bringing versatility and basketball IQ to the next level.
Background
Hailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Abaev developed his game at Calvary Christian Academy, a program known for producing high-level talent. During his prep career, he was ranked as the #20 prospect nationally in the 2025 recruiting class. He competed alongside fellow elite prospect Collin Paul, a 2026 forward committed to Florida State, giving him experience playing with and against top-tier competition throughout his high school journey.
Playing Style
At 6-7, Abaev possesses the prototypical size and frame that modern college programs covet in a small forward. His length allows him to be disruptive on the defensive end while creating mismatches offensively. He demonstrates good basketball instincts and court awareness, traits that translate well to the college game. His versatility as a wing player gives him the ability to guard multiple positions and contribute in various offensive schemes, though he'll need to continue developing his consistency and physicality to maximize his impact at the collegiate level.
Recruitment
Now enrolled at Cincinnati, Abaev has found his college home after being pursued during his high school career. His transition from a top-20 national recruit to college player represents the natural progression for a prospect of his caliber. The Bearcats coaching staff saw the potential in his skill set and frame, believing he can develop into a key contributor as he adjusts to the speed and physicality of college basketball.

Social Activity
My dad has always shown up for me, believed in me, and encouraged me to keep going. Getting to share Dads Take Your Child to School Day with him at Oak Ridge Elementary made this morning extra special. We had so much fun with our second-grade Friends—playing Trashketball, picking out books, and sharing donuts and goodie bags. I loved giving every student a book and surprising a few lucky winners with basketball tickets and a signed basketball. Thanks for making us feel so welcome, Oak Ridge. From the handmade posters to the thoughtful notes, I’m so grateful for mornings like this—and for my dad, always. Go Noles!🍢❤️
