Scout Report

The 6-8 center who was ranked #73 nationally in his high school recruiting class has officially begun his collegiate journey in Raleigh.

Background

Hailing from Arden, North Carolina, Zymicah Wilkins developed his skills at Christ School, where he competed alongside a loaded roster featuring future college stars. Playing with Trevor Manhertz (Indiana commit), Kingston Whitty (West Virginia commit), and Tyler Jones (Albany commit), Wilkins was part of one of the most talented high school lineups in the region. His local roots and development through North Carolina's competitive prep scene made NC State a natural landing spot.

Playing Style

Wilkins brings traditional center size at 6-8 with the versatility that modern college basketball demands from big men. His frame allows him to compete in the paint on both ends, while his development at Christ School suggests he possesses the fundamentals to contribute immediately at the ACC level. As a true center, he'll be expected to anchor the paint defensively and provide interior scoring presence. His ability to adapt to the speed and physicality of college basketball will determine how quickly he can carve out meaningful minutes in NC State's rotation.

Recruitment

Now enrolled at NC State, Wilkins has transitioned from a nationally-ranked recruit to a developing college player within the Wolfpack system. His freshman season will be crucial for establishing his role and showing the coaching staff his ceiling as an ACC-caliber center. The early commitment to his home state school suggests strong belief in the program's development plan for his skill set.
