Scout Report

Minnesota has a long habit of producing big men who play with their feet planted and their elbows out, and Hopkins just sent another one west and then south. At 6-9, the #32 player in the class of 2027 has already settled his recruiting, and the SEC got him.

Background

Nur comes out of Hopkins, Minnesota, a Twin Cities suburb that sits in the middle of one of the better prep talent pools in the Midwest. His path has taken him through the national prep circuit, with Canyon International Academy on his résumé before his current stop at Bella Vista Prep. That kind of travel usually means a player who has been tested against older, deeper competition than a typical high school schedule offers. At Bella Vista he shares the floor with Jayden Moore, a 2026 point guard ranked #260, which gives him a established ball handler to play off of.

Playing Style

A 6-9 power forward ranked in the top 35 nationally has to be judged on how he fits a modern frontcourt, and that is the right lens here. The value of a player with his size starts with what he does without the ball: setting screens, rolling or popping, and finishing plays that guards create. With Moore running the point, Nur's role leans toward being a reliable target in the pick-and-roll rather than a player who has to create everything himself. On defense, his length at the four spot gives a coach options, whether that means sitting in a drop, helping from the weak side, or switching onto smaller players for a possession or two. Rebounding is the other piece, because a big forward who cleans the glass ends possessions and starts the break. The tempo of his game reads as team-first, built around fitting into a structure instead of forcing the action. That makes him easier to plug into a college system, and it is part of why programs from several conferences wanted him early.

Strengths

Size is the baseline, and he has it at a premium position. A 6-9 forward who can play inside and still fit on the perimeter gives a staff real lineup flexibility. Programs like Arizona State, West Virginia, Minnesota and Marquette do not offer on size alone, so coaches clearly saw skill and feel layered on top of the frame. His ranking at #32 nationally backs that up, since the evaluators who stack these classes have him comfortably among the top players in the country. Playing on the prep circuit also means he has already faced bigger, stronger bodies than most high school forwards ever see.

Areas to Watch

The jump from prep ball to the SEC is a physical one, and the first priority is adding strength so he can hold his position against grown frontcourt players. Beyond that, the most useful growth would come from expanding his perimeter reach, including shooting range, handling in space, and decision-making when defenses collapse on him. If those pieces keep developing, he moves from a useful forward to a lineup anchor.

Player Comparison

There is not enough detail on his game to pin him to one specific player without forcing it. In terms of role, the profile fits the modern high-major forward who plays as a screener, finisher and rebounder while adding enough off-ball skill to keep defenses honest. Think of the type of forward who becomes a coach's favorite because the team is better with him on the floor than the box score suggests.

Recruitment

This one is finished. Nur is committed to Ole Miss, which beat out a group of offers that included Arizona State, West Virginia, Minnesota and Marquette. Four reported D1 offers from that caliber of programs show how widely his name circulated, and the Rebels landed a top-35 national prospect in a class where frontcourt talent is prized. As a 2027 prospect, he is in his final prep season, so the focus now shifts from evaluation to preparation for campus. The remaining question is how quickly he is ready to contribute once he arrives in Oxford.

Projection

The college ceiling is a rotation forward at the SEC level who can grow into a starting role as his body and skill set mature. A ranking of #32 nationally suggests real upside, but forwards at this stage can land anywhere from a long-term contributor to an early-impact starter, depending on strength, shooting development and how the minutes open up. The pro outlook depends on whether the perimeter skills come along, since the modern game rewards bigs who can space the floor and defend multiple positions. If they do, a professional path becomes realistic. If they stall, he still profiles as a productive college big.
