Steve Turner enters his first season as head coach of the Montverde Academy Boys National Basketball Team for the 2025-26 school year, bringing more than two decades of experience and a reputation as one of the most respected coaches in high school basketball. Turner arrives at Montverde Academy following a highly successful 21-year tenure at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C., where he compiled 497 career wins and established himself as an elite program builder. His coaching excellence has been recognized at the highest levels, earning him the prestigious Gatorade Boys Basketball National Coach of the Year award in 2016. Turner has also received six WCAC Coach of the Year honors and The Washington Post's All-Met Coach of the Year recognition. Beyond high school coaching, Turner has made significant contributions to USA Basketball, serving as an assistant coach for the U17 team that captured gold in 2022 and leading the Junior National Select Team to victory at the 2023 Nike Hoop Summit.
